Details on the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

The Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a government initiative created to make dental care more accessible to Canadians. It is specifically designed for families with an income of less than $90,000 per year who do not have private dental insurance.
The Canada Dental Care Plan offers financial support to:

  • Children under the age of 18
  • Seniors over 65
  • People with disabilities

However, it’s important to note that the amount of your coverage under the CDCP is based on your income and determined by the government. This means your coverage may vary, and depending on your situation, you could have little to no out-of-pocket expenses or there may be a co-pay. Our friendly staff is here to help you understand what’s covered and assist with the billing process to ensure everything is clear and stress-free.

How the Canada Dental Care Plan Can Help You

If you qualify for the Canada Dental Care Plan, you could receive a certain amount of coverage per year/per child to cover the cost of dental services. This financial support provides a safety net, ensuring that primary dental care, such as check-ups, fillings, and emergency treatments, is more accessible to families who may otherwise have difficulty affording it.

The plan covers the cost of essential dental treatments, including:

At this time, certain services that require pre-authorization, like crowns, are not covered by the Canada Dental Care Plan. However, pre-authorizations are expected to begin by the end of 2024, which means these procedures will soon be eligible for coverage. Rest assured, we’ll keep you informed and guide you through any updates as they happen to ensure you receive the best care possible.
